Strengthen your Immune system with Chinese Medicine

Chinese herbal medicine, acupuncture

winter got you down?No one likes to be sick with a flu, but actually the ability to get sick can be a sign of health. Our bodies ability to get a fever and regulate our body’s temperature is an important aspect of health. It’s not normal to get sick all the time, or to get sick with a cold that lingers on and on. Chinese medicine is a big advocate of early treatment, in fact some formulas that are used for cold and flu at the initial stage (1 or 2 days) are often rarely used, because patients wait too long before seeking treatment, so that herbal formula is no longer appropriate.

You can increase your resilience to getting sick with cold and flu’s by:

  • A healthy diet.
  • Staying away from pathogenic environment factors – cold, wind, heat – ESPECIALLY WIND.
  • Protecting yourself from the wind by wearing a scarf (this includes artificial wind like air-conditioning and fan wind blowing right onto your body).
  • Early treatment with food remedies like these ones.

Actually, Chinese Medicine practitioners will rarely use the word “immune system” or “immunity” because we look at the human body in an entirely different way to the western or biomedical one. We Learn more about how Chinese medicine’s unique view of cold and flu’s in Marie’s other article here.
