30 days of winter…day 2…Five foods you need for winter

Day 2

Lets talk about preparation for the inevitable colds and flus.

There is no way to avoid it completely. Whether you see it as the Chinese Medicine system does – that our body can’t defend against with the cold and windy weather, or from a biomedical perspective –  the season that see’s workplace offices and crowded public transport become incubators for colds and flu viruses, we can all agree no one wants to get sick.

One key of food based treatment is really how quick you get that food remedy into your body once symptoms start. As we proceed in this blog, I’ll give you specific recipies you can use for cold and flu’s but 5 foods your going to want to keep in stock in your house at all times in winter are:

  1. Fresh Ginger
  2. Dried cinnamon
  3. Spring Onions
  4. Honey
  5. Garlic

Add these to your shopping list, and I’ll see you in tomorrow’s post.

Best of Health,  Marie
